On March 15, 2011, Avago Technologies ( Nasdaq: AVGO ), a communications, industrial and consumer applications provide analog interface component suppliers, recently announced through the 2011 optical fiber communications exhibition two new fiber optic transceivers, support each line speed up to 14.025 Gbps. The new SFP+ transceiver for fibre channel switch, host bus adapter, RAID controller and a tape machine and between switches and chassis aggregated link 16 Gigabit solutions. Four channel QSFP+ transceiver for data communications and telecommunications network in switches and routers, data aggregation and interconnection backplane applications as well as proprietary protocol and high density link application. These modules are first integrated in Avago 14 Gbps fiber transceiver platform, a 8 Gbps fibre channel device, improves the system port density.
Avago fiber products marketing director Victor Krutul said: " Avago have great originality and comprehensive use of the core technology and design expertise, will take the lead in the new standards of performance and creative shape is introduced into the market, this is our 14 Gbps platform. Our new 16 Gigabit fibre channel and the four channel SFP+ QSFP+ module can provide top system manufacturers to provide high density application design. We expect that in the previously successful foundation, for 14 of our Gbps platform for the development of more new solutions. "
The new transceiver fusion Avago 850 nm vertical cavity surface emitting lasers ( VCSEL ) technology and PIN detector technology, with there is nothing comparable to this reliability. The combination ensures that rate of SFP+ module supports the FC-PI-5 standard and the 16/8.5/4.25 Gigabit fiber channel standard. As is usual in fiber channel speed coordination required in the index, integrated SFP+ module transmitter and receiver according to different data rate operation.
Hot pluggable module of QSFP+ is compatible with QSFP+ SFF-8436 specifications. Compared to the 8 Gbps fiber channel technology, QSFP+ transceiver may be reducing the power consumption of each channel 50%. The Avago 14 Gbps platform also may be Infiniband FDR applications to provide solutions.
Announced in the optical fiber communication in exhibition related news, Avago introduced between 10 and 120 GPa for the innovative product portfolio, and published by the Avago booth to display the new solutions of the details, in order to highlight the technical partners to create new highlights of optical device.
